Obituary
Herbert Andrew Terrill, 85, passed away in his hometown of Anacortes, WA. He was born in Los Angeles to Willard and Ila (Gilbert) Terrill. He was raised in Centralia, WA along with his two brothers Willy and Dan. Herb proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era and retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after twenty years of service.
He was married to his loving wife Arlene for 66 years. Together they raised three children, all while traveling wherever Uncle Sam decided to send them. After his Naval retirement, the family settled in Anacortes. He then began a second career as an industrial painter/supervisor.
At a very early age, Herb developed a love of automobiles, antique engines, and tractors. He was especially fond of vintage hot rods, and he enjoyed having coffee with “The Guys” in the Whidbey Cruisers Car Club.
Nobody loved a road trip more than Herb. In his later years, he would enjoy buying cars online, and then love the drive home. We all knew it was just an excuse for another road trip. He also enjoyed his annual road trips every January to visit dear friends Myrtle and Terry.
He was a friend and mentor to many and will be missed by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife Arlene, son Mike Terrill and daughter Linda (Kirk) Sherman, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff of Rosario Assisted Living Center and N. W. Hospice for their excellent care.

As of September this year, I have the honor of calling Herb and his beautiful wife Arlene my best friends for 60 years. He’s been more than a friend he’s been family. I’m very thankful his family shared him every January with us. Besides the swap meets , road trips to Yuma,Mexico, 2 cruises and of course our yearly slumber party’s in Reno for Hot August Nites, which gave us all so much fun, happiness and laughter in our life’s. God blessed me & my family for having Herb and all his family in our life’s. Not only for the good old days and fun times but was there for me through some sad and very hard times. Herb will be loved and missed so very much! Myrt
