Helen Louise Norheim (Reinhold) was born September 29, 1922 in Hallock, MN to John and Anna Reinhold. Helen passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on May 9, 2013.
Helen willingly followed her husband in numerous moves from Minnesota to Montana, Oregon, Arizona, and Alaska. They moved to Bellingham in 1994. She left a trail of friends wherever they lived and kept in touch thru correspondence for many decades.
She loved every cat and dog she met and was an avid bird watcher. Helen was a homemaker, plumber, electrician, nurse and builder. She enjoyed camping (in her early years0, crossword puzzle, reading books by James Herriot and laughing during the Carol Burnett and the Smothers Brothers shows. She was involved with her church which included Circle and making quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Helen was a quiet, patient, kind woman, and often displayed her love thru her actions.
After attending high school she went on to nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in peoples homes and well as at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis taking care of babies.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Selby Norheim, her parents (John & Anna Reinhold), her brother John Reinhold and son-in-law Steve Hicklin.
Helen is survived by her children Genanne Hicklin of Wasilla, AK, Genice Norheim of Bellingham, and Scott Norheim of Chugiak, AK; grandchildren, Katie Hotchkiss (Chris) of Concrete, WA, Jennifer Hicklin of Wasilla, AK as well as great granddaughters Shaylene Duckett-Hicklin and Averie Robertson-Hicklin of Wasilla, AK.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Orchard Park and Whatcom Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of our beloved mother.
