Obituary

Gregory Stubby Frere passed away Monday, January 21, 2013. Greg was 59, born November 6, 1953 in Bellingham, WA to Edward and Norma (Ryan) Frere.

Greg was a 1972 graduate of Sehome High School, and played softball for years with Gus & Naps and Budweiser. He followed his grandfather and father into the pipefitting trade and was a 37 year member of Pipefitters Local #26.

A loving husband and father, Greg was known for his love of cooking and sports. Following his retirement in 2010, he found more time to enjoy vegetable gardening, woodworking, and traveling. He will be forever missed by many.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beverly, whom he married in 1984; children, Gregory (Rachel) Frere, Laura Britt, Karyn (Scott) Black; brother Steve Frere; aunt Dorothy (Ryan) Hurley, uncle Terry Frere; brother-in-law Wayne (Beverley) Brooks; and numerous cousins.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 7 Baseball, 1688 W Bakerview Rd., Bellingham WA 98226.

  1. I had the pleasure to work around Greg for many years, tho not directly with him .we both worked for Haskell many years and always had time to chat with each other about the days events and how to manage or fix problems that would save the day. i enjoyed knowing him. Rest In Peace
