Obituary

She graduated from Custer High School, worked for Smith’s Bakery in Bellingham decorating cakes, then later worked from home making and decorating cakes for friends and family for their special occasions.

Grace always had tea and cookies ready if you stopped by for a visit and she enjoyed sharing her old picture albums, reminiscing about all those memories. She was very social, outgoing and caring.

She loved to travel, take pictures, collect agates and gems and later create jewelry from them, and collect spoons from her travels.

Grace was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She loved the old hymns especially old Southern Gospel music. She felt fortunate to attend a few live concerts and hear some of her favorite songs while visiting in Alabama.

  1. To the family of Grace…
This is Chaplain Andy from Josephine. I did want to let you know that we remembered Grace by name this past Sunday at All Saints Day. Grace was very special to us! We will also mention her by name at our monthly Celebration of Life that we do for all who are no longer a part of our community since our last celebration. I would love to share some of her obituary as well– and sing a hymn in her memory as we give thanks. Peace be with you all!

    Warmly,
    Chaplain Andy

  2. Grace, the lady always in purple. A true friend to my mom, Ida, for so many years. Loved her baked goods, especially when she had them frosted “so pretty”. Many years being with her in grange, at special gatherings with that generation we are all now missing. Memories…… and love and sympathy to her family and friends.

To The Family, I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I also want to share the comfort of John 5:28,29 where we are promised that those who have fallen asleep in death have the hope of receiving a “resurrection” back to life. Life on an earth restored to a beautiful paradise. Psalms 37:11 says, “The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” While we await that wonderful time please find comfort in these promises. www.JW.org
