Obituary

Gladys Mildred Fisher, born March 20, 1922 in Tacoma, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2012. She grew up there with four brothers. After working as a secretary to Eddie Bauer, she attended and graduated from the University of Washington. She studied nutrition and later became a Registered Dietician. She met Gordon Fisher while at the University of Washington. They married December 26, 1949 in Chicago. She made a wonderful home for her husband of sixty two years and their four children. She was a faithful member of Bethany Covenant Church in Mount Vernon. She loved to garden. One of her favorite songs was In the Garden. Now she has gone to the place prepared for her by Jesus, her friend, Savior, and Lord. She will be greatly missed.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Minnie Gustafson, step-mother Helen Gustafson, and her brothers, Albert, Lloyd, Clayton, and Eddie Gustafson, and her step-sister Jean VandeMark.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Gordon, their children, Janice Blincoe (Bob), Jim Fisher, Mark Fisher (Lorrie), and Doris Shaeffer (Jim), six grandchildren, Heidi Blincoe, Emily Williams (Tim), Keith Blincoe, Ben Fisher, Tim Fisher, and Greg Fisher, great grandchild, Mark Williams, sisters-in-law, Julie Lambertson (David) and Carol Gustafson and nieces and nephews.

Farewell Tribute Information

Gladys memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15th, at Bethany Covenant Church, 1318 South 18th Street, Mt. Vernon. A private burial will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
