Obituary

Gerritt Simmon Jefferson, age 34, of Lummi passed away on May 9, 2021. He was born on January 20, 1987 in Bellingham to John A. Jefferson Sr. and Laurie Wilson.

He attended Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College and was a fisherman, crabber, laborer, and flagger.

Gerritt was funny, loving, caring and swift. He was a genuine person with a huge heart who always had a smile on his face. He always brightened up the room. Gerritt was a real character who always s had a nick name for everyone.

His favorite activities were spending time with his family, cooking, walking, riding his bike, yard work, and playing basketball.

He is survived by his mother Laurie (Tomas) Brionez; father John Jefferson Sr.; sisters Lu-Ann (Leonardo) Alvarez, Caressa (Matthew) Brady and Angel Lane; brothers Lance (Leah Williamson) Jefferson, Levi Lane and Alex Jefferson; daughter Willow Anne Jefferson and mother of Willow Karen Mills and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Roberta Wilson, James Wilson, Sadie Sally Obi Jefferson, and James Jefferson, uncles James Jefferson Jr., Wesley Jefferson, brother John Jefferson Jr.; stepmother Cathy M. Lane; cousins Shannon Jefferson, Crystal Jack, Iziah Williams, and David Wilson Jr; nephew David Donald Christian Wilson and Willows grandma Sharon Mills.
