Obituary

Gerald N. Van Dyk, 84, born Dec. 15, 1928 in Lynden, passed away Monday July 1, 2013 of cancer. He was born to Walter and Verna (Leake) Van Dyk.
He was married to Carol Rusley Aug. 23, 1958. Gerald retired as a truck driver from Whatcom County road crew.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Garret, Manuel, Russel, Alvin, Edwin, Jack, and his sister Violet Pen.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Clifford of Kauai, HI, daughters Connie (Matt) Matherly of Yelm, Cindy (Ed) Honcoop of Bellingham, 4 grandkids Bill and Karl Van Dyk, Ruth (Rob) Jones, Reba (Dan) Ruiter, and 5 great grandkids. Gerald is also survived by brother Warren of Bellingham, and sister Virginia of Colorado Springs.
Gerald enjoyed hosting Search and Rescue training and mud fun on his farm
A private family inurnment will be held July 10th 2013.

  1. I miss you already Daddy. Thank you for giving me the farm life with cows and chickens and when I got older letting me have the herd of horses and vehicles on the property.
