Obituary

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon L. Landcastle of nearly 60 years, son Scott Landcastle, (Mary Hamrick), Maureen Harder, and Robyn (Rich) Jacobson. Grandchildren: Calvin (Angela) Jacobson, Tyler (Victoria) Jacobson, Renae Harder and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Geraldine Landcastle, his brothers Teddy and Richard, and grandson Jacob Harder.

Jerry was born in LeRoy, NY on September 8, 1935. Jerry was a 20 year Veteran, serving as a Seabee in the United States Navy.  He served in Korea, Vietnam, plus other countries, five US states and Guam, a US territory. Upon retiring from the Navy, he returned to Ferndale with his family where they resided for 38 years. During that time he was owner of Colonial Realty and Hallmark Homes Building and Development. A favorite pastime was attending FHS football games, baseball and raising Bison. One position he especially enjoyed, found challenging and often remarked upon returning home at days end “I love my Mayor Position”.  Jerry spent his entire life caring for others. He was involved with Kiwanis, Rotary, Boys and Girls Club and Shriners. He was Commander of National Seabee Veterans  Association, and was involved with Local Island Seabee groups, Board of Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association and always enjoyed a monthly Saturday breakfast with friends

Jerry often said, no matter how the day went, “God is with us and we are Blessed”.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, September 4, 2020, at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Road, Surprise, AZ.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ferndale, Washington,  followed by Military Honors and burial at Greenacres Memorial Park on September 11, 2020.
