Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Gordon Axlund, born to Wendell and Gwendolyn Axlund on November 4, 1935, passed away in Bellingham on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Jerry was raised in Whatcom County and graduated from Bellingham High School before moving to California to work as a commercial artist and raise his own family. Jerry was a pilot and he faithfully and honorably served his country as a member of the Marines, training many young pilots. After moving back to Bellingham, Jerry continued with his artwork and had several pieces displayed in local shops and galleries. Jerry was a man of faith who had a passion for music and used his wonderful tenor voice in various church choirs. We will miss him. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Linda; sons Ken (DeAndra) and David (Tammy); daughter Glenda (Tom); six grandchildren; one great grandchild, and stepbrothers Larry and Gary Kennedy. A memorial service is to be held at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2465 Lakeway Dr., Bellingham on Friday, December 15th, at 11 a.m. Refreshments will follow.

It has been many years since I talked to Jerry, but I remember what a talented person he was, and a good friend in High School.

Dear Linda and Family–It was with sorrow that I learned of Jerry’s passing. I so enjoyed singing with him in the choir at Faith Lutheran Church for many years. Later, I looked forward seeing both of you at CTS.
Jerry was such a gentle soul and always had a smile or a nod for me. He will be missed by many.
I trust that you and your loved ones will feel God’s healing presence around you as you share fond memories of Jerry and his life.
