Obituary

Gerald (Jerry) McRorie went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the edge of 90. Jerry was born on March 25, 1934, to Laura and Henry McRorie in Little Cedar, Iowa. As a young person, he enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, fishing, ice skating, hiking, camping, and mountain climbing.

Jerry met his wife, Rebecca (Becky) in 1979 at a dinner party for Christian singles. They married July 17, 1979. They had a house built on th eLummi Island’s Hale’s Passage beach that looked across Bellingham Bay to Mount Baker.

He was the father to four sons from a previous marriage. Steven of Maine, Brian of Blaine area, Cameron of Everson and Joel of Kent, WA. While living on the island, Jerry worked at Intalco Aluminum Corporation as a Public Relations Manager for 24 years.

For five years during that time, he and Becky owned the Island Store. Becky worked full time in the store.

After moving to Bellingham, he and Becky joined Good Shepherd Bible Church at Ferndale where they were active in their church.
