Obituary

Gail was dedicated to her family and friends. She started her journey on a fishing boat in Alaska with her husband Steve, returning home to raise her two children Ashley and Steven. She then spent 12 years building friendships at Costco.

In her final years she returned to the ocean continuing her legacy as the involved, up front, free spirited woman she was.

Gail is survived by her parents Dourland and Arlene Bird, her husband Steve, her children Ashley and Steven, her grandsons Jacek and Tanner and her brothers Greg (Sandy) and Gene Bird.

There will be a Celebration of Gail’s life on Saturday November 1st 1:00 pm at the Ferndale High School Auditorium.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help cover medical expenses.

  1. Gail was the most wonderful daughter-in-law in the world. We loved her with our whole heart and soul. She will be missed so much. I have some of her crockery pieces she pr5icked up at the dump in beautiful vases that I will trreasure and will always bring a smile to my lips every time I see them. You were special Gail

  2. Gail,
You were such a loving friend and someone I could always turn to. Your loving heart was so full of love this I will cherish forever. Thank you for being my friend I will always love and miss you. Until we meet again,

    Buggie

  3. Gail and I were friends when we were little and I was also close to her brother. I just found out from my sister in law about Gail’s passing. She was always funny and smiling. I always loved her quirky sense of humor. Much love to her family. She is missed and smiling down on all of you. Blessings to you all.

  4. My mother will be missed by family and friends alike, she left such a large impact on all of us. Her charging spirt and don’t take no for an answer attitude will be always remembered. She carried a lot of burden for our family and the hole she left behind of the full spectrum willingness and uninterrupted input to this family has been realized. But as we begin to heal and fill the hole with love of family, stories and great memories of Gail…my mom, she will never be forgotten for who she was and how much she left her mark on all of us. We will always miss her and she will never be replaced. Love you mom, rest easy wherever you may be.
    Your loving son Steven
