Obituary

Florence “Ann” Mains, passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 87 in Bellingham, Washington. She was born on December 24, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, to David Marshall Hawkins and Leta Charlene Clark. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and Nana, known for her strong family values.

Ann is survived by her husband, Patrick Mains, her daughter Marsha Saar, her brother Jerry Hawkins, her stepdaughter Shannon Mains, her stepdaughter Randen Kovacevic, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Betty Jean Richardson, brother David Marshall Hawkins Jr., son Michael David Jordan, and grandson Miles Christopher Jordan.

Ann attended Castleberry Elementary School and Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. After her education and moving to Washington, she embarked on a successful career at the Mobil Oil Refinery in Ferndale, Washington. Ann dedicated 27 years of her life to the refinery, holding various positions before becoming the administrative assistant to the refinery manager.

In her free time, Ann found joy in working in her flower gardens at the family home. She also had a passion for genealogy and spent countless hours researching her family history, amassing records of over 2000 family members.

A family graveside service will be held to honor Ann’s memory.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann’s name can be made to Whatcom Hospice or a charity of your choice.
