Faye Isabel Sween

Faye Isabelle Sween, lifelong resident of the Pine Lake Plateau, died on
June 29, 2012 in Bellingham. She was surrounded by her loving family
telling stories of all the family history. She was 95.

Mrs. Sween is survived by her children Elaine Etzler of Ferndale, Bob and
Lliane Sween of Ephrata, and Jim and Donna Sween of Richland. In addition to her three children, Mrs. Sween is also survived by her eight grandchildren,
thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was
preceded in death by her husband of 64 years and son-in-law James C
Etzler.

Born September 30, 1916 in Helena, Montana, she was one of 5
children born to Harry and Minnie Turner. Her family moved to
Redmond where she met and married her childhood sweetheart Bill
Sween. The current site of the Sammamish Commons Park was where
she and Bill owned the Sween Poultry Farm and raised their family. Mrs.
Sween was a Member of the Julia Davis Orthopedic Guild, Redmond
Nokomis, Issaquah Grange, Redmond Historical Society, and a
parishioner at Sammamish Lutheran Church. Her family will fondly
remember her as a loving matriarch, golfer, florist, sharp card player,
charitable knitter, and devoted Seahawk fan.

The Sween Family would like to thank the staff and friends at Fairwinds Residential Community in Redmond and Whatcom Hospice for the exceptional care and attention granted to Mrs. Sween. A Memorial Celebration to honor Mrs.
Sween’s long and blessed life is planned for September. Gifts in her
memory may be made to the Hospice House, 2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98225.
