I am grateful to have been able to laugh, talk, pray, and share recipes with Gene. He was a light in many lives when all we could see was darkness. Now he is with the Lord he loved and served so well.

Gene was my ‘brother-in-Christ’ for most of the 28 years I’ve lived here. We met in the CTK divorce-recovery group and he lived out his belief that we singles are called to a ministry of support, wherever The Spirit called…and he did whatever he was capable of, from car repairs to building rooms! He could be grouchy and hard-headed when it came to doing things ‘his way’, but his heart for serving GOD, and His Kingdom Coming was always his priority! He was a man of few words, but welcomed the opportunity to pray for whatever asked/needed, and could often be found at the ‘Light-of-the-World’prayer-center in devoted focus on taking ‘everything to GOD in prayer’…I could get a smile out of him when I’d remind him that we were ‘twins'(sharing a birth-day), just born 5 years apart! We shared appreciation for healthy food and always made ‘extra’ for the other…At our last visit, he said how he hoped he could eat at the Hospice House, and I know/trust he is seated at the ‘Banquet Table’ of the Lord, enjoying the ‘Feast’prepared for those who have served Him here! He will be missed as someone who encouraged me to study GOD’s Word and follow Savior-Jesus, wherever/whatever form that guidance takes!

  4. Webb and Jen, So sorry to hear of your loss! I always remember your dad from our Cornwall years and how much he loved his grandbabies. Much love to you both and hope this can be a time of peace.
    Love Colby, Darla and family

  5. ‘Always helpful and willing to be so’ is how I remember Gene (when I worked at Cornwall). Always a friendly reply when asked him to help out, on just about anything and always a kind ‘Hello’ when greeting. Grace upon those missing him, and Hooray for his forever rest in the Lord.
