I miss you Esther. You were a good friend. You became a “grandmother” to many foreign exchange students at an age when few others would. You had an adventurous spirit. The two “Augies” loved you so much. I’m grateful that I was able to visit you for nearly a year at St. Francis and so happy when you asked me to pray for you. I love you, Esther, and will see you again in heaven. Rest well sweet lady.

I remember Esther as a very hearty & capable woman. She reminded me of my grandmother in that way, and also in that she looked forward to first pitch of the day’s Mariner game all summer long. I recall sitting with her & Ruben in the kitchen of their house on St. Clair after part of Ruben’s hearing had been restored. It was quite a powerful moment.

I miss those beautiful blue eyes, and that smile you always had on your face whenever I came home. I miss your silly comments, and how much you could make me laugh. Holidays won’t be the same without you, but I can’t wait to see you in heaven grandma, till then. ❤️
