Obituary

Erwin Knapp, 89, of Bellingham was born in Anacortes and lived most of his life in Northwest Washington. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Andrine, daughter Christa (Chuck) Vandervort , and sons Ernest (Laurie) and Carl (Muff), 8 grandchildren; Julie Fehlauer, Mark Vandervort, Jessica Knapp, Chloe Knapp, Jeremy Knapp, Sandra Heinze, Amy Knapp and Tyler Knap, and 4 great grandchildren; Alyssa Fehlauer, David Fehlauer, Sam Vandervort and Brooke Vandervort.
Erwin graduated from Anacortes High School in 1945. He attended the University of Washington and graduated from Western Washington University. He retired as a teacher with the Anacortes School District in 1979. Since retirement he and Andrine traveled extensively throughout the US in their RV.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bellingham Congregational Church or the Bellingham Norwegian Male Chorus.
