I had the pleasure of knowing Ernie through Kairos and Tres Dias. He was a strong mentor and taught me how to lead worship. The memory of bag pipes at the retreat house at dawn will always bring a smile to my face. A gentle spirit, a good friend, he will be missed. ‘Till we meet again my friend…”

Ernie was a dear friend and brother in Christ. We had many wonderful times together in prison ministry and in conversations afterwards. It was a joy to serve the Lord together! We enjoyed playing music together in the Lord’s service, but most of all we enjoyed seeing God at work in hearts. Ernie’s heart beat for God’s kingdom. He is with the Lord now, but we will be together again. My family’s prayers go out for Linda and the rest of their family.

  3. We knew Ernie for such a short time but blessed us so with his humility and joy in the Lord. We really were saddened to hear of his passing for the sake of his family and all those that he served. Yet Ernie himself has crossed into that heavenly kingdom to the Lord that he loved. “It is well with my soul”

  4. Ernie and Linda have been special friends to my wife and I over many years. We have such great memories of being neighbors in Phoenicia, NY, and accompanying Ernie on the piano. Most of all, it was our privilege of knowing a man who loved the Lord so much in life, and now will be loving Him and being in His presence for eternity. Rest in peace, my friend!

My deepest sympathy to the Shultis family. Ernie was taken to young. I worked with Ernie at IBM Kingston, NY way back in the 1980’s. I’ll never forget him especially seeing him marching around the parking lot at IBM while he practiced his pipes. Always a good hearted man. May you all find peace and celebrate his life.
