Obituary
Resident of Custer
Emily Marilyn (Chapin) McCauley passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born to Bill and Ruth Chapin on January 21, 1932, and with her brothers and her sister, lived most of her life in the Whatcom County area.
In 1954 Emily married Robert “Bob” McCauley, and they began making a home and raising a family.
Emily was very gifted as an artist, gardener, and crafts-person. She loved drawing pictures that she would copy precisely from magazines; and knitting and crocheting lovely items that ranged from small caps, socks and sweaters, to large colorful afghans; many of these items she donated to charity.
She made many friends when she worked at Bellingham Cold Storage, Wakefield’s Foods, and other food processing facilities in Bellingham and Whatcom County.
Emily is missed by her three sons Robert Jr. (Martha), Randy and Matt, and her daughter Susan (Tom) Patton, grandsons Ryan and John McCauley, and granddaughters Linda McCauley and Emily and Sarah Patton.
Her husband Bob preceded her in death just five short months ago.
She is also survived by her sister Ruth Chapin, brothers Vernon and Joe Chapin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emily was more like a sister then a sisterinlaw. Everyone in the family loved her very mush. We feel so sorry for Emily’s family. Ron & Dorothy & Family
