Obituary

Eileen McCudden, age 70, passed away in Bellingham, WA on April 15, 2017. Eileen was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Joseph and Rose McCudden. She and her brothers spent much of their childhoods moving with their parents to a variety of homes along the Eastern Seaboard. She graduated high school from St. John’s Highshool, in Goshen NY, in 1964. Eileen earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from SUNY New Paltz. Shortly after college, she settled in Sacramento, CA where she began a 30 year career as a Commercial Estimator for Performance Contracting Inc. Eileen was proud to blaze the trail as one a very few women in the construction industry at the time. Eileen lived life on her terms with fierceness and determination. This was at its most apparent as she raised her daughter, Kylen and in her extreme generosity to family and friends, whom she cherished deeply. Eileen was a huge music fan, and inflicted her love for Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and The Band on anyone she could. She was a proud feminist who described herself as a “recovering Catholic and lefty communist pinko.”
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents and her brother. She is survived by daughter Kylen McCudden, nephew Josh (Aubrey) McCudden, niece Kim (JT) Buser, niece Kirstin (Marc) Shelley, great niece and nephew Ashli & David McCudden, Holden and Apolline Shelley, and Dennis and Andrew Buser, her 3 beloved golden retrievers, Riley, Gus & Rosie, numerous cousins and an untold number of friends.
