Obituary

Eileen Constance Finkbonner passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on July 2, 2021 in Ferndale, WA. Eileen was born to Daniel and Doreen Cooper on December 22, 1934 in Tulalip, WA. She then went on to marry Dennis Finkbonner on August 27,1955.

Eileen was so full of love and laughter and always had a prayer for anyone in need. Some of her favorite activities included gardening with scissors and loving to drive fast. She was known as “the ninja grandma” because she killed a mouse in front of the grandkids. All of the activities Eileen enjoyed also come with a funny story of their own.

Anyone who knew Eileen knew that family gatherings meant the world to her. She held gatherings throughout her life because she didn’t want to be forgotten. She made sure she had tea time with her grandkids as well as crumpets and tea with her daughters, because making memories was important to her. Eileen attended Mt Baker High School and later got her GED. She was a hard worker and held many jobs in her lifetime, which included working with the elders for the Lummi Senior Program, working at the Lummi Clinic, and also working at the family convenience store.

Eileen was a very loving, caring and joyful person, but she could also be stubborn and very set in her ways when she wanted to be. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Finkbonner; her parents Daniel and Doreen Cooper; grandparents Harry and Josie Cooper and Sampson Thomas and Susi George; and siblings Barbara Cooper and Dan Cooper Jr. Eileen is survived by her children Sherie (Tony) Johnny, Brenda Finkbonner, Ron (Alena) Finkbonner and Stacie (Carey) Jefferson; sister Della (Bob) Finkbonner; a godson so special to her, Bernie Finkbonner; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss her beaming smile and her heart of gold, but we know that she is with the Lord now. May you rest in eternal Peace.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, at 9:00am with a funeral service to follow at 10:00am. Both services will be at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2039 Main Street, Ferndale.
