  1. Ed was the half-time principal three of the last four years at Franklin. I was the other half: I taught in the morning and Ed took over the class for the afternoon. He was great to work with and work for. Franklin had a real stage and at Christmas time, Ed would work with our kids to put on extravagant plays. The kids did the sets, wrote the script and performed. He could always find the best in every kid! He made Franklin a great place to be, for the teachers and the students.

  4. Dave Brummel says:

Ed was my fifth grade teacher at Columbia Elementary School, and many years later, my principal at Franklin Elementary School. I was fortunate to have Ed’s guidance and friendship for many years, and I know he had a major role in my growth as a person and a teacher. Although Ed took me flying in his J3 Piper Cub many times, he always displayed his wisdom in not allowing me at the controls. He will always have a special place in my heart.
