    Dear Family of Eric Moldver,
My husband and I were volunteers at North Cascades N P the day of Eric’s accident. Although we had no involvement in the park’s rescue we did hear it over our radio and as the day progressed we prayed for him and your family, every one in his group and all of the park staff involved.
We are members of El Sobrante United Methodist Church in California and the next day we called home and asked for your family to be put on the prayer chain.
Even if your family is not religious please know that while all of this was happening Eric
and your family were being held in the light of love and caring.
I hope this note has not intruded on you privacy, coming from complete strangers.

We wish to express our deepest sympathy in your loss.

    Sincerely, Sandy and Morie Oberg

Dear Moldver Family,I first want to say thank-you for lending to this world such a caring compassionate and faithful man to the world for a few hours each day. I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Moldver, and so are my children. We are patients of his and and have been for some 5 or 6 years now. I’m a single poor black mother who couldn’t afford to feed myself when I met the Doctor, let alone pay for dental care. Yet I had a very serious dental issue and I was also petrified of dentist.
My first dental experience was at age 16 and my uncle had to hold my hand all the way through. I tell every dentist that story but it actually mattered to Dr. Moldver. He understood that my fear was real to me and he made sure that although I was homeless and didn’t have a dime, I still deserved to be treated with gentleness , kindness, and respect. He even made me feel at ease because of his gentleness and down to earth personality. I told him a lot about myself how I was trying to go back to school get my children back from their father in Tacoma after leaving Saint Louis for a better life, and how I was trying to get back on my feet.
When you are homeless and people know that you are they tend to treat you like a second class citizen. But not Dr. Moldver he was supportive and backed up his support with tangible evidence. He was only supposed to work on my tooth for 30 mins that day, but I needed a root canal and he fixed it in an hour since their weren’t any other patients waiting. He helped me at a time when few people were willing to and I will always appreciate him for that.
I told him when I get settled I would bring my kids to him to and that is just what happened. My 19 year old son suffers from the same anxiety toward dentist as I do and Dr. Moldver for some reason was the only one who could set him at ease. Dr. Moldver would tease him about being a big strong high school football star who couldn’t get a cleaning.
I missed several appointments for my daughters this year and he was going to start working on my 12 year olds’ teeth this year. I sorely regret missing those appointments now. I’m a student full time at WWU in my senior year now with custody and shelter for my children. I don’t know if Dr. Moldver realized what an impact he made in my life and the life of my children but it was great.I wanted his family to know that he touched us in a way that will always be remembered.
We wish you peace, and pray that the angels of heaven will greet Dr. Moldver at heavens gates.
    Sincerely and with Love,
Alexis Davis, Melvin Deal, Chasity Deal, Christina Deal, and Janette Deal.
