Obituary

Al passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021 after a sudden illness.  He moved from Ohio to Bellingham in 1990. He was born on April 20, 1943 in Ravenna, Ohio to Albert and Liz (Horne) Farres. He attended Ravenna High School with great academic success, played football, and proudly served as class photographer.

Al graduated from Akron University with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 1976 and worked as a psychologist for more than 40 years. He became FICPP board certified Diplomate – Fellow in Psychopharmacology in 1999.

Al enjoyed sailing, photography, music, and was an avid reader.

Al is survived by his life partner of 33 years, Pamela Davis of Bellingham, Pam’s daughter Nicole (Lucas), and their son Tate of Sumas, brother Bill (Judy) of Ohio, sister Ginger Haffner of Virginia, and niece Kristina (Mark) Baker of Ohio.

Al enjoyed life to the fullest. He was dearly loved and will sadly be missed.
