Obituary
Douglas Scott Jones Jr. was born to Lenore Jefferson on June 18th, 1995, in Bellingham, WA. As a Lummi Tribal member, he was raised on the reservation, running the beaches, rivers and trails. Douglas is a beloved son, brother, father, nephew, grandson and friend.
All of his family has had the privilege in helping to raise him and he spent many nights living with his cousins, who all became his sisters and brothers. They shared many adventures together, laughing and cracking wise guy jokes.
Douglas loved to be goofy and to make those around him laugh, especially his family. He also had an infamous, self-proclaimed talent for rapping, spitting rhymes for anyone and everyone. He was a fisherman, construction/laborer, and he worked for Lummi Commod Squad as a woodcutter.
On February 19, 2020, Douglas became a daddy to Dallas Marshall Jones. As a father Douglas shined, his unconditional love for his daughter showed through and through. Dallas Marshall became his new best friend and true mini-Dougie. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for her; he was her protector and absolutely adored her. He will always be remembered for his loud, impatiently eager presence and the love he had for all his family and friends.
Douglas is survived by his mate, Yolanda James, and their daughter Dallas, and son Kai; sisters: Kateri Hillaire, Priscilla Hillaire (Justin Phair), and Valerie Tyler; numerous Aunties, Uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Lenore Jefferson; stepdad Bob Leach; Brother Daniel Jefferson; maternal grandparents: Douglas and Lillian Jefferson; aunties: Alice, Joi, and Paula Jefferson; uncles: Douglas Jefferson Jr and Randy Kinley; great-aunt Ollie (Arlene); brother-cousins: Jeremy Jefferson, Roy Boy Jefferson, Kolten Lechuga, and Gabriel George.
There will be a prayer service held on Sunday, April 3,2022 at 6pm at the Wex’liem building and a funeral service held on Monday, April 4,2022 at 10am at the Wex’liem building with burial to follow at the Lummi Nation Cemetery. Please share your memories of Doug at molesfarewelltributes.com

Jones was a remarkable man, I was introduced to him at Alcoa. He was very funny and full of energy. He was so proud when his daughter was born. I did not think he could have more energy but being a dad moved him to another level I have never seen before. It saddens me that his life has ended at such a young age, the prime of his life. To his family I wish the deepest condolences through this unbearable time.
