Obituary

Douglas G Wolf was born August 16, 1957, in Greenville, South Carolina to Ken & Mary Ann. Doug passed away peacefully at the PeaceHealth Whatcom Hospice House on February 3, 2025.

Doug along with his parents and his sisters Sherry and Pam lived in St Louis, Missouri during his school years. As a young man he was musically inclined and played the Piano. He also enjoyed kayaking the rivers of Missouri and had a few epic float trips. It was in St Louis is where he met his future wife Virginia “Ginny” at the church his family attended. When Ginny moved with her two young children Sara and Jason to Bellingham in 1978, Doug followed closely behind, and the family settled down in Bellingham after Doug and Ginny were married in the early 1980s.

Doug worked in HVAC industry for all the years he lived in Bellingham until his passing. Doug was a beloved friend and team member of the Barron Heating AC, Electrical and Plumbing family for over 25 years. His influence was felt across the organization and his “can-do” approach to each day was witnessed by all that worked closely with him from Operations to Business Analytics.

For many years before Ginny’s passing the family spent a lot of time at their home in their beautiful gardens, greenhouse and barn. Doug became Grandpa Doug in the early 90’s with two lovely granddaughters and one smart and witty grandson. He became great grandpa several years ago and always enjoyed the latest grandkid stories. Doug and Ginny were never without a labrador retriever as part of their family and usually a host of barn cats, which they enjoyed giving unique names. Doug was also a talented woodworker and could build just about anything. They hosted many parties over the years including weddings for both kids. All who went to parties at their home always remembered their hospitality and the wonderful food.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife Ginny and his mother Mary Ann Wolf. He is survived by his two stepchildren and his grandchildren Lindsay, Carly and Jeffrey and great grand-son Daniel, his father Ken (Donna), his sister Sherry (Rich), and sister Pam and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his faithful old black lab Sherman – who will live with family now.

Doug will be laid to rest next to wife who he loved very much at Greenacres Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the PeaceHealth Whatcom Hospice House in Doug’s name. Both Doug and Virginia passed away at the Hospice House and we are very grateful for the care of them and for our family.
