Obituary

Donna Mae Crocker passed on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the age of 89.  Donna was born December 20, 1931 in Geneva, Nebraska to B.W. “Bud” and Marion Huston.  Her parents moved to the West Coast when she was an infant and she was raised in McMinnville, Oregon, where she graduated in 1949 as valedictorian of her high school class.  In 1950, Donna married Charles “Chuck” Crocker; together, with their three children, they lived in Oregon, Alaska and eventually settled in Bellingham in the early 1970’s.

During her working years Donna served in the secretarial fields of insurance, retail, construction on the Alaska Pipeline in Prudoe Bay, AK, and healthcare.  After 20 years in Administration at St. Joseph Hospital, Donna retired and began her new “career” with the enjoyment of serving as a child care provider to the ever-increasing number of great grandchildren.

Donna’s family was her greatest joy as her three children were the “best gifts” she was ever given, and she could be often found at one of many sporting/athletic events cheering for one, or more, of her great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed reading, needle craft and knitting, often resulting in numerous gifts for family.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, husband, only sister and a cousin.  She is survived by daughters Christine Patten and Cindy Meche (husband Joe), and son Michael Crocker (wife Pam Crocker); grandchildren Clete Smith (fiancé Alice), Cameo Johnson (husband Brian), Celeste Patten, Luke Patten, Jared Lovejoy, Jason Harler, Zachary Crocker, Tiani Crocker (husband Aaron); great grandchildren Violet and Cameo Smith, Finnegan, Clayton and Barrett Johnson, Zion, Aysa, Azariah, Arrow and Tucker Crocker, Ayla Gabl-Patten; 3 cousins and a niece and nephew.  At her request, there will be a graveside memorial service at Bayview Cemetery, for family only, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
