Obituary

Donna Joanne (Gardner) Royal, 72, of Lynden, WA died Saturday April 25, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham
Donna was born October 26, 1942 in Portland, ME to Carl and Joanne Gardner. The family moved to Whatcom County when she was very young. Donna graduated from Meridian Hight School class of 1961 and Cascade College of Portland, OR in 1967 with a degree in Psychology and a background in religion. Donna spent her career as an Activities Director for Whatcom County Senior Centers.
She had a powerful Belief and loved praising God through her singing. Donna’s other interest was her doll collection.
Donna was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by husband Philip Royal, her mother, son Derek Downing and sister Jeannie (Ken) Schneider.
A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at Ten Mile Cemetery on Thursday April, 30 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at Laurel Community Baptist Church
