Obituary

Bruce Baldie of Bellingham passed away on August 15, 2024 at the age of 93.  He was born on July 17, 1931 in Yakima WA to James and Norma Baldie.

At the age of two Bruce’s family moved to Bellingham, where he grew up in the Fountain District.  He married Lois Richardson and they raised their four children together.  He worked in the seafood industry prior to his career at Intalco. After retiring, Bruce went to college. He received an Associate of Arts and Science degree.  In 2001 Bruce and Patricia Palmer married. They enjoyed traveling and had a great life as snowbirds in Yuma. Bruce loved to landscape and often volunteered to help others. His grandkids fondly referred to him as ‘Poppy’. We will miss his booming, infectious laugh. He lived a very active and healthy life.

Bruce is preceded in death by his daughter, Diane and brother, Jim Baldie.  He is survived by his wife Patricia, children; Dan Baldie, David Baldie, Debbie (Keith) Worth, grandchildren; Skye, Celeste, Anda, Shawn, Dylan, Tyler, Joel, Matt, Brian and numerous great-grandchildren and relatives.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 1PM – 3PM at the Squalicum Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your favorite charity.
