Obituary
It is with great sadness that the James and Kamkoff family announce the passing of Denali JoAna James. She will be missed by her friends and family. We will forever remember our daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt,cousin, niece and friend. She had an amazing love for life and went on many adventures through her travels. She always had a great love for the outdoors; and frequently went fishing, camping, and hiking. Traditional fishing was an important part of her spiritual ways.
Denali was born May 21, 2000 in Bellingham, WA and passed in Fargo, ND on December 18, 2021.
She had numerous friends in Lummi and Ferndale, WA; Moscow, ID; Flagstaff, AZ and Fargo, ND. Denali made a home in each place she lived.
She is preceded in death by her uncles Johnnie Kamkoff; sister Cassandra James; grandmother Virginia Kamkoff and her grandfather Edward R. Kamkoff who passed away on December 26, 2021.
She is survived by her parents Harlan James and Josie Kamkoff; sisters Jessica, and Tatsiana James, and Livia Kamkoff; brothers Harlan P, Patrick, and Anthony James; aunts Tina Kamkoff, Rosalynn Bland, Ernestine James, Madalynn Stivers, and Besalynn James; uncles Wade and Ed Kamkoff, Jim James, and Dave James; niece Cassandra James and numerous cousins.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 4, at 11:00am at Lummi Nation Cemetery.

Our family is heartbroken to learn of Denali’s passing. We will treasure ALL of the wonderful memories of Denali and we are very thankful to have been a part of her short life. She touched our lives in many ways. May God bless your family and provide comfort and strength in the days to come. Denali’s spirit lives on each life she touched.
