Obituary

David S. Nelson, age 75, passed away in Bellingham, WA on January 5, 2017. David was born on August 3, 1941 in Bellingham to Max and Mildred Nelson. He attended Bellingham High school. After high school, David joined the Navy. In May of 1963 David married Gayle M. Rine. Together they had one son, Corey. Most of David’s career was spent with The City of Bellingham Water Department, from which he retired in 1991. In his younger years, David played soft ball, and bowled. He enjoyed bird hunting, and worked on race cars as part of a pit crew. David also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, watching sports, and shopping at Fred Meyer.
David is preceded in death by his parents Max and Mildred Nelson, and by his mother and father-in-law Mary and Robert Rine. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gayle M. Nelson, son Corey (Tamara) Nelson, sister-in-law Karen (Jerry) Walker, nieces Lorri Moore and Lisa Adkins, and Miss April the Corgi.
