To the David L. Kopp family,
We crossed paths often at the Academy at West Point. David was in C-2 and
I was in C-4…sister companies to those who knew how West Point academics
and athletics worked. Dave was a good guy and really respected. All the
obits written on him support the cadet I knew at the Academy. We also
briefly crossed paths as Air Defenders. This is clearly written for my
condolences to DeeDee and your family. I know I was honored to have known
Dave for only a few years of his life but he left a remarkable impression
that I can remember and recall over 47 years later.

    Be Thou at Peace…

  2. I am one of Dave’s classmates from USMA, Class of 1971, Company C2. We have been looking for Dave for the last few months, as we have lost touch with him. I am very sorry to learn of his passing. You have our heart felt condolences. We try very hard at West Point to remember our fallen brothers. If possible and you see this, please let me know if we can write a Memorial for Dave for our classmates to see and remember him. My email is above and my phone number is 408-307-0775. Again, our sympathy to you.

I had the privilege of working with Dave at Chrysalis High School He was a wonderful teacher to his students and a wonderful friend to his colleagues. He was a great story teller and he entertained us on many a lunch with his stories about growing up in North Dakota. He is remembered.

I will always remember Dave as my dear and gentle neighbor, a seriously intelligent friend with an excellent sense of humor, and the only person brave enough to skydive with me. Dear Dave, you are so missed.
