Obituary
One Badass Woman
Danayle Marie Wilson was born to Dana Wilson and Roxanna Armstrong May 2nd, 1979 and passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved the most on September 18th, 2023 at age 44. Danayle grew up on the Lummi Nation in a large family with numerous cousins and friends she considered sisters and brothers. Danayle was the proudest mother and grandmother. There wasn’t anything she was more dedicated to than making sure her family and children were happy and well taken care of. She was a woman of many talents and wore several hats. Danayle was a lifelong fisherwoman and found her peace while on the water. Not only was she a badass fisherwoman who never missed an opening, but she was also passionate about helping her community. Danayle was a Certified Peer Support Counselor for the Opioid Overdose Prevention Project. She moved mountains for those suffering from substance abuse by tearing down barriers that made recovery seem impossible. They related and connected with her in a way that made them want to do better, be better, and accomplish recovery because they knew she too had been in their shoes. She proudly stood as the example that recovery is possible. Danayle’s family and friends will remember her as a strong, independent woman who could make anything happen. She loved shopping, cleaning and just cursing listening to music. Danayle leaves behind her mate James Scarborough III, father Dana, sister Sara Jean, and brother Jordan (Shayleen) Wilson, children Ceona Rabang, Cylis Johnny, Ike, Dane, and Jaimee Scarborough, Sampson Bumatay, and Gabriella Wilson, Grand children Kaiona Ballew, Amariyah and Ryda Felix, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Danayle is predeceased by her mother Roxana Armstrong, grandparents James & Roberta Wilson, William and Phyllis Armstrong, Aunt Tika Armstrong and Ike Scarborough.

To the Wilson family I hope you know that you have a warrior a strong woman that took care of everybody else before herself. She was a diamond and nobody could break her. She gave back to her community tenfold and I don’t think anybody will be able to emulate the way that she was able to reach the people. She gave wholeheartedly and I know she will be missed greatly I know I’m going to miss her dearly but to my friend God got a hell of an Angel and her name is Danielle Wilson my deepest condolences to the family and the friends that loved her dearly just remember nobody will ever be able to take her place.

To my family in lummi, I am sending my deepest condolences to you, with the biggest of hugs. I wasn’t aware of services until it was too late, but I want you to know my spirit is with all of you. In the short amount of time I’ve had to get to know danayle, she made me feel right at home, as I’ve been reconnecting with everyone after my dad (dean dolan) passed away. Hopefully I can get to know all of her kids just as well. She will be deeply missed.
