Obituary

Dale Edward Hanson born June 10, 1938 went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ July 14, 2017. God took him home when he was doing what he loves best spending time in his beautiful creation.

He was preceded in death by his baby daughter Valerie Jean, parents Herb and Thelma Hanson, sister Marilyn, and brother’s Chuck and Frank Hanson.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of 54 years, two daughters Brenda (Scott) Nicholson; Lori (Danny) Shearer; six grandchildren David (Alayna) Sorenson, Kristine Sorenson, Brady Shearer, Jacob Nicholson, Carter Nicholson, Kendall Nicholson, and great-granddaughter Paisley Rose.

He served in the National Guard at the age of 16 and served four years in the Navy.

Dale had too many hobbies and interests to list. When he was young he participated in figure skating and racing and over the years he has been on many bowling leagues. He loved the outdoors and served as a Royal Ranger leader for 15 years at Calvary Temple where he influenced many boys’ lives while taking them out on hikes, camping trips, and exploring the wilderness.

Dale was the most loving, giving, and patient husband and I will never get used to living without him but I will with the strength God gives me. When we said our good-bye that morning he was so happy to be heading to the mountains, a place he loved, exploring God’s wonderful beauty. He loved his girls so much and was involved with them from the time they were born. He bought them corsages and flowers every Easter and heart chocolate boxes each Valentine’s Day and he continued that tradition with his granddaughters and great granddaughter. His grandchildren were so special to him and he loved to be with them. He made every effort possible to support them in whatever they enjoyed doing and he could hardly contain himself when he was around our great granddaughter.

Dale, my love and need for you will never end…until I see you again.

Words cannot express our gratitude for all the love extended to our family during this difficult time.

I am so heartbroken for your family. Your home was my second home for my entire childhood and Dale was another dad in my life. I remember how much he loved his girls and supported them in everything they did. Barb and Dale always had such warm and happy interaction. Many of my fondest memories were made with your family. I am praying for God’s peace and comfort for you Lori, Barb and Brenda. Please let us know how we can help you through this difficult time.

Dear Barb,I’m so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words I chan say to make you feel any better. I’ve been here too many times as you know. All that we know is Dale is with the Lord now. Just know you and the family are and have been in our prayers as you go forward in life. With all our love Becky and Tom Tarli
