Colleen was born in Havre, Montana on June 28, 1928 and passed away at home in Bellingham on December 26, 2020 at the age of 92. She graduated from Bellingham High School. On December 19, 1949, she was married to James Edward Hall in Thompson Falls, Montana.
She and Jim loved to go camping and take road trips in their green VW camper van, especially along the lakes and campgrounds in the Cascade Mountains. She was a voracious reader and held various clerical jobs in her younger years before her kids came along. Later, she worked in the California State “Head Start” program working with first and second graders. Colleen deeply loved and cared for children and all people who were suffering. When she hugged you, there was no doubt that you were loved. She loved her Immanuel Bible Church family and enjoyed visits with her siblings, children, and grandchildren. Colleen was unconditionally loving, giving, and fun. She will be remembered for her loving support and prayers. Her friends noted how much her “potent” prayers were appreciated and that she always taught the love of Jesus.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 62 years, James “Jim” Hall; parents, Lew Mortimer and Alice Hassett; brother, Jim Mortimer; and sister, Patricia Grover.
Survivors include her son, Tim (Anita) Hall; daughter, Kathy Hall; brothers, Larry Mortimer and Steve (Jolene) Hassett; sister Alonna (Al) Kester; grandsons, David and Michael Hall; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Colleen’s name to Immanuel Bible Church (2000 W. North St, Bellingham, WA 98225).
