Obituary
Clarence E. “Clink” Andersen, of Bellingham, WA passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born on October 18, 1929 in Bellingham, WA to Haagen and Esther Andersen. He attended Washington Elementary School, graduated from Ferndale High School in 1947 and attended Washington College of Education (WWU). Clink worked at the Record Journal in Ferndale and then at the Bellingham Herald for the remainder of his career.
Clink overcame many health challenges and lived a full life with many interests. He was an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan and enjoyed going to Mariners games and Spring Training in Peoria with his family. He was able to travel to Norway later in his life, meet his relatives, and see the farm where his father was born. He was very proud of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and former wives Muriel Andersen and Linda Andersen.
He is survived by his children: son Gabe Andersen (Gladys Forbes); daughters Sharon (Butch) West; Janice (Robert) Clayton; and Nancy Anderson; grandchildren: Jennifer Anderson (Sarah Mulholland); Tim West (Jodi); Jessica West, Maura Andersen, Bonnie Andersen, Kelli Nelson (James); and Ian Andersen; great grandchildren: Kaden West, Colbie West, Kinley West, and Maddox Mulholland; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters Beatrice Gilfilen and Doris Matz; and cousins here and in Norway.
We will celebrate Clink’s life on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, at 12:00PM at Moles Farewell Tributes Greenacres (5700 NW Dr. Ferndale).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Mission.

My heart is heavy and a little more empty with the loss of my dear and loving Uncle Clink. At the same time it warm and full of wonderful memories from as far back as I can remember. How luck was I to have you in my life Uncle Clink, and because of you and Auntie Muriel I also got , my wonderful cousins, Gabe, Sharon, Janice and Nancy, along with all their beautiful children and so on,and so on.Thank you Uncle Clink for the rides in your old Nash, bringing me to company picnics, summer days at Lake Salish, sharing your kids and home on Eldridge, your love and attention. You were an amazing man, you showed us that nothing can stop you from doing things. You were always warm and welcoming, you made the best clam dip and fritters. You always showed me nothing but love and I loved you in return.
Thank you, I am blessed to have had you and your family in my life and I am proud to be your niece.
