  1. Pam says:

Chris became my brother-in-law May 28th 45 years ago in an elegant and simple wedding ceremony, and has been a joy to know. I see Chris in my mind’s eye with a permanent smile, not just a lip smile, but an all over the face and eyes smile. And, I can hear his laughter. He was a kind and quiet man who was comfortable in his skin, was extremely talented in woodwork, and was a true leader of his family. Several months ago we had an outdoor picnic on his deck, and he went out of his way to show the guests his shop, and house, his little piece of heaven.
A vibrant wonderful man, gone too soon.

Chris was a very special person. He was the kind of man people respected, children took to immediately, and animals trusted. He enriched everyone with his gentle humor and kind and generous nature. His devotion to his family, his community, and his craft were obvious and well-known. The loss of Chris creates big hole in our family as well as in his community. Our heartfelt prayers go out to Holly and Mikael, as well to Chris’s siblings and their families.

Our hearts are broken. I remember Holly referring to Chris as “my friend, Chris.” They were friends. When they married, our family gained a wonderful man. He was a down-to-earth, quiet gentleman. Chris was a master woodworker. People waited for him to create, recreate or repair their prized possessions because they knew he was worth it. Chris was very quiet and unassuming. He will be missed by many who knew him or knew of him and respected who he was. But, Holly and Mikael, our hearts are broken and Chris is not here to try to fix them. But we wish he was.

  4. Holly, and family,
I am saddened to learn of Chris’ passing. I enjoyed getting to know him on the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee. He was always a positive force there and representing a neighborhood with some of the toughest issues to address . I hope the memories of your long and loving memories sustains you. I know you were proud of his wonderful wood craft skills. Sincerely, Kathryn Hanowell, City of Bellingham, Inaugural Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee Coordinator.

  5. We knew Chris as customers. He was a gifted man with his wood refinishing. His work was perfect. We entrusted him with family heirlooms to refinish for future generations- including a grand piano. He was always friendly and fair. We knew he would do a great job on the next piece-which he did!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
    Cliff and Sue Wilson
