  1. Dear Mom, I miss you terribly. I can’t thank you enough for all you did for me. I was truly blessed having you having you as my mother. I will try my best to pass on your wisdom to my girls. I’ll never forget you. Love, your son…Lance
    “She’ll come into your life soft and quiet, like a winter storm, and lift you from the ground like she’s handling fine china. She will pick out the glass shards pricking your body and marring your skin, and she’ll bandage your wounds with care. She’ll then wipe all the soot and dirt from your cheeks as you nudge your face into her tender hands. Finally, she’ll reach her fingers, ever so softly into your chest, and warm your heart from the inside out until it beats anew.”

    To Joans’ family, this has been a hard year for your family the loss of Rodney and then Joan, if you have only a portion of Joans’ compassion for others then I am sure you are hurting and I am sure that you are. Joan was a strong woman, strong in what she believed and that enabled her to go through her grief. May you the family find the same kind of comfort, you know where she found that from. She is resting in peace but as she believed and taught others she will come back to life in a new world much different than this one, along with her will be Clyde and Rodney and others of your family… just writing this now I can just picture her explaining this to you, it was in her heart. Job 14:14,15 ‘If a man dies, can he live again?…You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands’. So family be assured Jehovah God, will not forget Joan Brock, and his memory is better than all of ours put together. When she comes back she will be joined by Clyde and Rodney all in perfect health I hope she will be joined by the many others she loved.

  3. I will always remember your mom as a real lady. As Vicki said ” Hats, gloves, earrings” – the whole works. Humorous, kind, and never a bad word about anyone. They just don’t make them like her anymore. I met her and Clyde in 1972 when Rod and Lance were just young boys. She was always a pleasure to be around and always interesting. I’m sorry you lost your mom (I know how that feels) but all I can say is that you sure are blessed for having her in your life.
    Sincere heartfelt condolences;

    Rod and Kris Durham

    Dear Robbin, Rick and Lance
    Your mom met a lot to me. I met her in the late 60’s. She was very intelligent and I always learned from her. She was so kind and always concerned about others wellbeing. Even in her later years when she was house bound she always kept interested in others and how they were doing. Her faithfulness in always phoning in to hear the meetings amazed me. She was a faithful example to imitate and I will miss her greatly.

    She loved lemon pie and now every time I make one I’ll wish she was here to share it with her. When Rod was alive the three of us shared a lemon pie every now and then. In between my lemon pie’s she would get hungry for one and send Rod off to Fred Meyers to get one but she always said they liked the ones I made better. That makes me smile. I miss her! Every once in a while I would try a new recipe and would take some over for the two of them to sample and report back as to wether the recipe was a keeper or not. I always got a truthful answer and let me tell you many a “new” recipe was tossed. What fun – I have a lot of very nice memories of your mom.

    The love she had for all of you guys was very apparent.

    Several people have approached me at the Kingdom Hall expressing how sad to hear that Joan is gone. They all said she was a great example and admired her.

    I alway admired how she took pride in her appearance. I lover her Jewelry and her clothes. I also loved her stories about when she was young and went to town _ dress like a lady hat gloves and all. Oh the memories they make me smile and cry. It is hard to say good by to a special friend.

    I’m very sorry for your loss

    With Sincere Concern and Caring

  5. For over 51 years, I have known your family. Please accept my sincere condolences. Because of my own inability to express myself, I am at a loss of words. I treasure my memories of Joan, her huge warm smile and her always being able to wear hats. Her sparkling brown eyes were always, just a little, mischievous. Her constancy and love for her family were always a good example. Her loyalties to Jehovah and his ways were foremost in her heart when I would be able to call. Now, when Jehovah calls, she will be able to answer, “Here I am, waiting patiently for your promises of resurrection and life under your love and guidance.” No longer will she be abused by Satan and his wickedness. May you be comforted in her love for Jehovah and the hope he gave her.
