Obituary

Charlene Marie (Schiller) Marshall passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in Mount Vernon, Washington at the age of 87. She was born June 7, 1937, to Joseph W. Schiller and Edna E. (Jensen) Schiller in Bellingham, Washington and was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. She worked at Dahl SeaPac until its closing and then Bornstein Seafoods until her retirement. She enjoyed her visits to the casinos in Reno Nevada and the local Silver Reef and Angel of the Winds Casinos so much that her car sported “Casino 2” license plates. Her favorite color was purple.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Jacqueline Schiller (infant), Nancy Smith, and grandson US Army SPC Trenton L. Thorp. She is survived by her sister Joan McClellan (Richard); daughters Debi Thorp (Steve), Darlene Starr (Mike), Diane Foster (Jack); sons David Marshall and Darryl Marshall; along with (8) grandchildren, (17) great-grandchildren, (9) great-great-grandchildren (with another on the way) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene will be remembered for her infectious laugh and high spirits.

A graveside service will be at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale WA, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. A reception held in the Greenacres Chapel will follow the graveside service.
