Obituary

Resident of Lynden Washington

Cornelius Hilbert Stremler, known to everyone as Casey, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 3, 2013. He was born on August 11, 1931, on the family farm north of Lynden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve & Dora Stremler, his sister Gertie DeLeeuw, and his first wife and the mother of their children, Audrey Stremler.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis and his children JoAnn Stremler of Seattle, Mary Imhof of Bellingham, and Mark & Shari Stremler, also of Bellingham. His family also includes his grandchildren, Ian Imhof, Hannah Imhof, Stephanie & Ryan Bosman, Derek & Morgan Stremler, Justine & John Stap, Hannah Stremler, one great-grandson, Beau Bosman, sister Mary Oordt and brother Alfred Stremler. Also part of his family are Phyllis 4 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and their spouses, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Casey was a lifetime member of Third Christian Reformed Church of Lynden where he faithfully served in many ministries. He gave 2 years in service for our country during the Korean conflict. His life was spent dairy farming and raising his family, being active in all aspects of their lives. He was chosen Whatcom County Dairy Family in 1989 and Washington State Dairy Family in 1990. In his retirement years Casey loved traveling, spending time with his family, watching Mariners baseball, and visiting people in the community who were hurting. He was also active in Prison Ministries, Whatcom Hospice, Lynden Noon Kiwanas, and Lynden STARS program.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, October 8, at Moles Farewell Tributes Lynden from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 9, at 10:00 AM at Monumenta Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at Third Christian Reformed Church at 11:00 AM.

Farewell Tribute Information

A viewing will be held Tuesday, October 8, at Moles Farewell Tributes Lynden from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 9, at 10:00 AM at Monumenta Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at Third Christian Reformed Church at 11:00 AM. Donations Information

Memorial may be made to Ebenezer Christian School.
