Obituary

Carolyn Arlene Hanson, a lifelong resident of Bellingham, sadly passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Born to Velma M. Johnston and Cornelius F. Johnston on April 2, 1945.

On December 2, 1967, she married Elmer Harvey Hanson in Bellingham. A graduate of Bellingham High School, she worked all of her life keeping books for industries in logging, construction and transportation.

Carolyn and Elmer enjoyed boating, traveling to Hawaii once a year in March, spending time together, and just enjoying life with family, friends, and their beloved pets over the years. She  enjoyed planting and arranging flowers, gardening, crafting, custom card making, cooking and baking,  playing cards, and cozying up with a good book. Carolyn was involved with Beta Sigma Phi sorority for almost 60 years.

Carolyn was a very selfless soul during her lifetime, (just don’t ever get on her bad side, or the red headed Aries would come out!!)  She was a blessing to everyone she touched, always giving to others.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Elmer Hanson, son Kevin Hanson, grandchildren Kyle and Rachel Hanson, and brother Mike Johnston.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Faith and kept that faith until the Lord called her home. Carolyn will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
