Obituary

Carol Louise Washington passed away at age 72 on July 9th, 2023. She was born in Bellingham WA to parents Laurinda and William on June 5th, 1951.

Carol grew up in Whatcom County, going on to have a variety of careers such as housekeeper, bartender, and fish processor. When not working her favorite pastimes were playing at the casino, watching young and the restless, Bingo, cribbage, word puzzles and cards.

Some favorite memories from family members are jamming out to music, her cooking, how she was always on the go, traveling and camping. Her brother David remembers when she called him at the 50yd line. Neice Angel reminisces how her aunt always knew when she was pregnant before she knew herself. Niece Gloria will miss her phone calls, and Babby Alec says “smokehouse!” Carol had cute nicknames for everyone. Her sister Gloria recalls a childhood moment- “When we were younger, Carol was getting in trouble cause she couldn’t find her shoe.. She finds her shoe and says ‘There you are you old shoe! Why didn’t you holla me?!”

Carol leaves behind her siblings Gloria, David, and Ernestine, and her daughters Marie (Jason), and Elizabeth. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Treiza, Jordan, Taylor, Melissa, Olivia, Alexis, Alisha, Karolina, Amilla, Jazmine, and Alexander. As well as 7 great-grandchildren: Giovanni, Gabriela, Christopher, Grace Lynn, Kiyana, Ramil, and Koen. She is pre-deceaced in death by her parents William and Laurinda, her siblings Bill, Joan, Ann, and Larry, as well as her daughter Rose Ann.

Carol was hilarious, blunt, fun, caring and dedicated. She will be dearly missed.

A service celebrating Carol will be held at Wexliem on July 14th at 10:30am
