Obituary

Carol was born in Stockton, CA to Oscar and Mona Red.

After graduation from high school, Carol was homemaker for the majority of her life, taking care of her four children. She also completed cosmetology school. Carol was caring, compassionate, loyal, and spunky. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved making people laugh. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing outside with her dog Charlie, but, above all else, Carol loved her children. They remember the late-night drives for comfort food; either grabbing a burger at the bowling alley or ice cream from Baskin Robbins. Her daughters loved dressing up in her clothes and wearing her makeup.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Janice Prudhel and Sandra Smith; her beloved children, Tracy (Chris) Roy, Mike Brooks, Nichole (Matt) Lewis, and Jennifer Backman; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and her best friend of over 50 years, Gaylene Richardson Dombeck.

A private memorial service was held for family.

  1. Shahin Abbas says:

May Lord bless her soul in peace, Amin! She will always be in my heart. I always used to ask Gaylene about her. (I met Carol with Gaylene once only. I am Gaylene’s friend for 30+ years.)

  2. As the days continue to pass, I hope you can find peace and healing during this difficult time. Know that each day will get easier with love and support. May the words of Psalm 147:3 “ He heals the brokenhearted, He binds up their wounds” bring the entire family comfort and strength. Please accept my sincere condolences.

  3. Carol was my baby sister. She was always loving and kind and deserved better than I gave her at times. I love you Carol and will miss you terribly. I will miss your laughter during our phone conversations. I will miss you bragging about your kids and hearing the love in your voice when you talked about them. Rest peacefully in the arms of God, my sweet sister. I love you forever and ever.

  4. Carol was a very special lady and I loved her with all of my heart and soul. It was an honor to be her friend for all of these years. I have such beautiful memories of our times together. Sometimes we did not see each other for quite awhile, or even talk frequently, but when we did it was as if there never was a gap in time. I have never known a better or truer friend than Carol. May you Rest in Peace and we will meet again in Heaven.
