Obituary

Calvin E. Conley, age 91, passed away August 7, 2021 in Bellingham, Washington. Cal was born in Richwood, West Virginia on April 11,1930 to parents Frank & Frances Conley. His family relocated to Forks, WA where he grew up and graduated from Forks High School in 1948. After graduation, Cal joined the U.S. Navy where he became an Aviation Electrician. After his discharge, Cal went to work in the Bellingham Shipyard and joined the IBEW and was a proud Member for 68 years. He worked at Industrial Electric for 32 years.

Cal was a good friend and mentor to many. Cal is a retired volunteer firefighter from Marietta District 8, a member of the Elks, American Legion Post 7, and Whatcom Masonic Lodge #151. Cal volunteered many hours at The Deming Logging Show.

On December 2,1978 Cal married the love of his life, Jo Ann. Together they enjoyed RV camping, hunting, and fishing. Cal also loved his faithful dog Calli Jo (AKA Brownie). After retirement, Cal & Jo Ann built a new home together and lived there until his passing.

Cal is survived by his wife Jo Ann Conley, brother Earl Conley, sons Randall Conley, Rick (Cheryl) Conley, Andy (Kyra) Harris, and he was blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Cal was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Cal was laid to rest on Wednesday August 18, 2021 at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA at a private family graveside service. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.

A special thank you to the caregivers and friends that helped Cal in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
