Obituary
Bruce Allen Ebergson, 64, of Bellingham passed away unexpectedly in his home on August,16, 2023.
Bruce was born in Bellingham, WA to Elmer and Carol Ebergson (Close) on October 9th, 1959. He was the second eldest of four boys. He lived in Bellingham, WA. He attended and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1978.
Bruce was known for his work ethic. Hard work was something he instilled in both of his sons as well. He worked at Aluma/Safeway Scaffolding Systems for many years building scaffolding and retired in March 2010. After retirement Bruce enjoyed fishing, watching sports, collecting coins, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bruce was gifted in his athletic ability, a trait that he passed onto both his sons and grandson. He was very talented in all areas of sports. He participated in Football, Baseball, Wrestling, and Track during his high school years. He received many awards throughout his sport career. He was a linebacker for the Red Raiders. He received 5th place honor in State Wrestling in 1978. In 1978 Bruce also had the opportunity to wrestle an opponent from a Japanese cultural exchange team. Bruce earned State Honors and placed 5th in 1977 and 4th in 1978 State Track & Field; Javelin. After High School Bruce went on to play football for WWU. As a freshman at Western, he received the NAIA Division Player of the Week award; a National honor.
Even though Bruce had a hard time expressing it at times, he loved his sons and grandkids dearly and he was very proud of them and their accomplishments. He kept every picture, award and card ever sent to him to as very special memories.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Elmer; and brother, Barry.
Bruce is survived by his mother Carol; brothers Brian & Brent and his sons: Christopher (Kaysha) and Chase Casady; grandchildren Isaiah and Lily, as well as many friends and family.
A Private Memorial Service will be held for the family at 2PM on 9/29/2023 at Bayview Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be 9/30/2023 from 4-7 PM at the Four Points Sheraton in Bellingham, all are welcome to come and share memories of Bruce.
