Obituary

Brian Peter Sebastian, 62, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital on May 15, 2017, after his courageous battle with cancer. Brian was born in Bellingham, WA on March 22, 1955 to Irene B. Kolb and Peter A. Sebastian. He was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. In 1974 Brian married, having two sons Joshua Johnson and Christopher Brian Sebastian, with their mother Diana. Brian worked many years as a Ship Smith but was a man of many aptitudes from farming, carpentry and commercial fishing. Aside from his numerous occupations, Brian’s favorite pastime was watching sports. He was an avid sports fan of NASCAR Racing, College and Professional Football, Basketball and Baseball. He rarely ever missed a Seahawks or Mariners game. Summer months he spent working in the yard, barbecuing, going on camping trips, driving long scenic routes of the PNW, and pole fishing. He always had a story of many sorts to share and tell; he loved to laugh. In his later years, Brian shared his life with his companion of the last 17 years, Alice Jefferson, her two children Charene and Michael, and family of the Lummi Nation. Brian is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Irene Sebastian, and brother Craig Sebastian. Brian is survived by his sons Joshua and Chris, nephew Donnie, and his grandchildren Jade, Kalia, Maverick, step-grandchildren Darrian, Jace, Bianca, Katrina, Kainin and Viviana. A Memorial dinner was held for Brian on Sunday May 21, 2017 6 PM at Lummi Veteran Hall, 2608B Kwina Road, Bellingham, WA 98226. His final resting place will be Greenacres Memorial Park.

  1. I’m so sorry for y’alls lose. He helped raise me while Josh and I were figuring out how to become adults and still wanting to be kids. He was always so caring and I am sad that I let time pass without talking with him. ❤
