Obituary

Bernard “Bernie” James Quiram was born on October 24, 1923 in Dent, Minnesota to Albert and Lillian Quiram. In 1941 he joined the US Navy and headed to Pearl Harbor, where he arrived shortly after the infamous attack. He then served in the Pacific Theater for the duration of WWII.

At some point he ventured out to Bellingham and met his future wife, Lorraine. They were married on June 1, 1958. Bernie passed away peacefully on November 30, 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; and his children, Tim Quiram, Tammy and Eric Schinske, Teresa Williams, and Don Bailey; his four grandchildren, Al, Erin, Shannon and Tegan; and his great granddaughter Karmen.

Family was important to Bernie and he especially wanted to make sure his wife was cared for, even to the end when he announced that he wanted to die first so he could be there to greet her when she arrived.

Viewing will be December 6, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Moles Greenacres Memorial Park (corner of Northwest and Axton Roads).

A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 7, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 858 West Smith Road, Bellingham, Washington.

Please accept my sympathy to the loving Wife, Children,Family & Friends in the sad loss of your dear Bernie. He will be sorely missed by all who knew, respected & loved him. The following Bible Verses will give you some comfort & hope at this difficult time. Rev21:4-5 AND HE WILL WIPE OUT EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES AND DEATH WILL BE NO MORE,THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY.”

  2. I would like to express my sympathy for Bernie’s passing. I did not know him personally, but I understand how difficult losing a loved one is. I would like to share some thoughts that have brought me comfort in times like this. John 5:28,29 gives us the promise of a resurrection when it says ” the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will come out”, and then in 1 Corinthians 15:26 it calls death an enemy and says it will be brought to nothing. I find these two promises both exciting and comforting, hopefully you will also. If you would like to learn more, feel free to contact me.
    Sincerely B. Quintrall
