Obituary

Benny William Capp, age 12, left us on May 3, 2017, far too soon. He was born on August 5, 2004 in Bellingham to Cade Capp and Kelli Swanson. Benny filled the lives of those around him with his love, affection, empathy, strength, honesty, laughter and pride. Benny’s twelve years were lived fast, fun, and fearlessly. His boundless energy kept everyone on their toes. He never let the “rules” interfere, and could not be stopped when there was an adventure in front of him. Whether it was a bike, a skateboard, a snowboard or a slip n’ slide he had no fear. He was constantly striving to do “something fun!” and loved playing football with his friends at school, or with his brothers on the weekends. He was the laughter, the jokes, the noise, the magic, wherever he went. He invented a language all his own, a self identified “Savage Master.” Benny was the kid we all wanted to be in school. He was confident, charismatic and hilarious. His smile was infectious, his heart enormous, and he taught everyone the meaning of determination. When he did slow down it was to get back scratches from his loved ones, snuggle his baby brothers or lay with his best friend, Pirate. When you saw Benny with his brothers you saw his whole heart. Benny left a legacy far larger than most in the time we had him and he will never be forgotten. We will all do our best to embrace the joy in everything and strive to Live Like Benny. Benny is survived by his mom Kelli Rae (Chad) Swanson, dad Cade William (Ana) Capp, brothers Jaxon Kness, Griffin Capp, Emmett Swanson, and Crosby Swanson, and Pirate T. Dog – the best dog ever, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

A celebration of Benny’s joyful life will be held on Saturday May 20 th 2:00pm at Moles Farewell Tributes – Bellingham, reception to follow. It wouldn’t be a celebration of Benny’s life without candy and donuts.

  1. I know this won’t give you comfort , but my son is an eight grader and he played with Benny all the time. He is very broken up about this and so am i. I have been crying for him and thinking of you as parents who lost this beautiful boy and the pain you are going through every day . I didn’t know him ,but my son has many beautiful and fun stories to tell about him. He was so outgoing and popular that even my son in eight grade knew him. We would attend his event, but honestly I don’t have the heart to do so .please except our deepest sympathy. Hope you find some peace and comfort knowing that he was very much loved.Faye and Amir Rasmussen.

  2. My beautiful cousin, Kelli, words can’t be said to express the sorrow in my soul for all of you. Prayers for strength and comfort haven’t stopped nor will they. I love you!

  3. I don’t believe I’ve ever read a tribute so real and touching as this to your son, Benny. The very reason to love more deeply and hold each other close. We will always remember your wonderful son, Benny.

Me and Benny were really close i remember all the fun times we had at school like when we would go out into the halls and kick a field goal with a random book or when we made the lunch lady mad by bringing a whole bunch of caps to school because she said “they make a mess.” you will never be forgotten and deepest regards to his family especially crosledoslesquishismishisswagilishisballer.
