Obituary
Barbara passed away on Monday, January 2nd under the loving care of the Whatcom Hospice House staff. She was born on December 29, 1930 in Wapato, WA to Curtis and Mary (Bacon) Waters.
After she graduated from Bellingham high school, Barbara married Leslie Eggert in 1948. She enjoyed volunteering at Saint Joseph hospital, playing the piano, and taking care of the Calvary Temple Youth Choir in the 1970’s. Barbara was always very well put together; color coordinating her clothes and shoes, and putting earrings on before leaving the house.
Survivors include her daughters, Timina Eggert and Gretchen (Lester) Van Mersbergen; grandsons, Joel (Amy), Jay (Trisha), and Evan (Amy) Van Mersbergen; and brother, Robert Waters. Preceding her in death is her husband, Les, and brother, David Waters.
A memorial service will be held on Wed, January 11th at 11:00am at Moles Greenacres (5700 NW Dr).
Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Saint Joseph Medical Center Foundation (2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham).

She was a beautiful person & a wonderful aunt. We loved her very much. She will be missed dearly. Our love & condolences to her family.

Timmi and Gretchen – it was such a joy to know your Mom. I don’t ever remember a time that she didn’t have a smile and a hug for us, even when running in to her at the hospital. She was a special blessing to us and will be greatly missed. May our Lord bring you all comfort in your grief. We love you.
