Obituary

Arthur Vernon Raplee was born to William and Mable Raplee on July 13, 1931. He passed away on December 20, 2017 after suffering a massive stroke.

Dad was a fisherman his entire life. He retired from Arrowack Fisheries to care for his wife, Anna, after a lifetime career commercial fishing in WA and AK. His love for fishing started as a child while sport fishing with his dad. He continued his love of the sport past retirement and was instrumental in beginning the development of the Salmon Enhancement Project. Dad was a hard worker, and instilled that in both of his daughters. He was always helping anyone that needed it, and was a give you the shirt of his back kind of guy. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion Post 7.

Art is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Anna, and all his siblings; brothers, Paul, Norm, John, and sisters, Betty and Beverly. He is survived by daughters Ann (Mike) Davis and Verna (Harold) Threlkeld, granddaughter, Crystal Kowsky, and his beloved partner in crime, his dog Muffin.

We would like to thank the ER and ICU staff for their wonderful care, Christine Anderson and Dr. Pete Beglin for all their care and concern, and a very special thank you to all at Hospice House.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Greenacres Memorial Park (5700 NW Dr. Ferndale).
