Obituary

Born March 4, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter and Greta Peterson, Arline peacefully made the leap to the Lord on the morning of January 3, 2016 at 11:45am in Ferndale Washington.

Arline (nick named “Pat”) was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah with her brother Richard. Arline attended the University of Utah Nursing program and graduated as a Registered Nurse.

Arline married Edward H. Waltemeyer of Salt Lake City in 1943 and in 1946 married Wendell “Frank” DeLaMare of Salt Lake City.

Arline had a long and interesting life. Her father, Walter, worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and Arline enjoyed traveling on the railroad as a youngster. As a registered nurse, Arline worked in private practices in Salt Lake and as an RN at the Boeing plant in Washington State where she managed an adventurous flight sitting atop the radio in a P-38 Lightning. After marrying Ed, Arline lived in California and Arizona. Later, upon marrying Frank, her life assumed the role as the wife of a career Army Officer involving multiple tours overseas and a myriad of stateside assignments across the US.

Remarkably, following the death of her second husband Frank in 1996, Arline established a home in Arizona with her first husband, Ed, with whom she lived for 13 years until his passing in 2010. Arline relocated to Bellingham, Washington in 2012 where she enjoyed the closeness of loving family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom loved to cook, entertain, travel and spend time with family. We are going to miss her sense of humor, twinkling eyes, strong hands and smile.

Pat is survived by her three sons: Paul Waltemeyer of Mesa Az; Rob DeLaMare of Parumph Nv; Scott DeLaMare of Bellingham Wa. She is also survived by grandchildren, Marcy, Mike, Rick, Dustin, Tyler, Danny, Cameron, Chelsey and great grandchildren Kendra, Rachael, Joseph, Endia, Brayden, Anabelle, Darleen, Jacob, Alexa, Camden.

A memorial will be held in Pat’s remembrance and in celebration of her life at Moles/Greenacers, 5700 Northwest Dr in Ferndale Washington at 2:00 PM on Saturday January 16th

Rest in peace dear, you will be missed in our lives.

  1. I am sorry for your loss. It is difficult to deal with the loss of a loved one. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 reminds us that God is always there to comfort us in our time of need. I pray this comforts you and your family.
